We are lucky to see the most beautiful rainbows here. This is the first time I've seen the 'end' so close. Scattered sun showers all day made up for the cool weather at the end of July. Country living can't be beat.

Wheat berries. Thought I'd try a closeup for fun. Is anyone wanting to try the wheat gum yet?

A quick one, just for nostalgia. Growing up in the valley of N.D. big skies and wheat fields were the quintessential summer sight. Not as common in N. MN. We used to take a stalk and chew the grain like gum. Wheat gum-imagine that!

After shooting these, and picking them, I got busy making pie. Glazed fresh fruit rasberry pie with my homemade butter crust. The taste reminded me that some things are much to fine to take pictures of.., much less even try to describe. :) One of my favorite joys in the height of summer.

I don't know why I like this picture so much.

We didn't catch an edible fish last night, but the sunset was worth every minute. It has been so cool here, while out on the lake it felt like October. This picture with the exception of a little sharpening is SOOC. Can't beat a sunset on your favorite lake.

This is a meadow just east of my parents place. Those of you who frequent that route probably know this field with the little distinguishing detail here. I liked the yellow flowers amongs the crop, and of course the sky with the setting sun.

I've been wanting to shoot these dainty little striped flowers for a while. (anybody know what they are?) They catch my eye as they are by the dumpster, so it makes taking out the trash a little more refined. These are very small, and were shot with a macro attachment lens.
